April = Busy

April turned out to be such a busy month and I am looking forward to things slowing down at some point, hopefully soon. May looks like it might be just as busy though! I've decided to start my own little business working from home (I'm not giving any more details yet - it's in the very beginning stages, hope to have a website up in a month or two, we'll see how things go), plus I have a baby shower in Orlando in a couple weeks and several things to complete for that, plus I have committed to working on 2 other websites. I have my work cut out for me again this month! Oh, and have I mentioned that I have a newborn? Yes, I'm a little nuts right now.

Is she not the cutest? :)

Doctor Checkup: 2 Months

Elizabeth had her 2 month doctor checkup and got her shots. We went round and round, but finally decided to get all her regularly scheduled shots (which was a very hard decision for me). She had to drink one of them, then she got 3 shots in her legs. I've never heard her scream so loud! It completely broke my heart which made me cry too! At least she got Tweety Bird bandaids afterward. Poor thing. Oh, and she is now 11 lbs. 9 oz! I can't believe it! I thought that carrier was feelin' heavy.

Elizabeth's First Trip to... The Keys!

Elizabeth's cousin Chloe had her 4th birthday party in the Keys and we all travelled down for it. It was a bit rough on us, as we had just gotten home from Orlando on Friday and had to turn around and leave again Saturday morning. Not easy with a 2 month old! Plus, we had left the dogs home for two days and had to leave them again. Even though we were only there for a few hours, we had a great time! Here are some photos from the event:

Elizabeth in her party dress and ready to get her groove on down in the Keys!

Kiera showing us what a fish she is.

Charles & Melina have quite the oasis, don't they?

Chloe opening her presents. Can't believe she is now 4!

Mommy and Sweet Pea, who was slightly partied out.
After getting her snooze on, Elizabeth was ready to rock and roll!

Elizabeth enjoyed seeing her Aunt Rachael.
(And was sorry to clobber her with spit up though!)
Rob and Ken were quite the party animals.

Chloe enjoying her Sponge Bob cake. It was very cute!
(By the way, I didn't know little girls would like Sponge Bob. I think I am in trouble!)

Two Months Old!

Elizabeth is now 2 months! I can't believe how quick the time has gone. In honor of her turning 2 I made lemon-flavored cupcakes with buttercream icing and placed them in the shape of a "2" and put pink sprinkles and pink M&M's on top. In addition to the regular cupcakes, I made a ton of mini cupcakes that Ken took to work. Apparently they were well received because I was brought back an empty container!

Happy Two Months Elizabeth!

Elizabeth's First Trip to... Disney!

Ken had to go to Orlando for a work conference on Thursday, April 16, so Elizabeth and I went with him. This was our first overnight trip, so you can imagine how much stuff we packed! We drove up to Orlando on Wednesday night and settled into The Peabody. We were given a very nice room and they wheeled in a crib, refrigerator and microwave for us! Elizabeth even got her own ducky towels and a rubber duck for her bath. (unfortunately, I forgot to get a photo)

We also made it in time to watch the duck march. The ducks were so cute and fun to watch.

Elizabeth enjoyed her front row seat watching the duckies.

On Thursday, Ken left for his conference and I took Elizabeth to Disney for the day! She thoroughly enjoyed it and stayed awake most of the day. We rode on the PeopleMover, Carousel of Progress, The Haunted Mansion and had lunch at the Liberty Tree Tavern.

She also got her very first Mickey's Ears with her name embroidered on the back! A cute, little pink Princess hat for a cute, little worn-out Princess. We had a great day! (And an added bonus... she was so worn out, she slept all night!)

Easter Family Photos

Ken and I took Elizabeth to a little park near the house and took some family Easter photos of all of us. I remember when I was little, my mom always took me out to buy a new dress for Easter and it always made me feel very special. I don't think my mom realized (even to this day) how much that meant to me and I wanted to carry on that tradition to my daughter. Here are some of our photos! (And trust me, this is a small batch compared to how many we took!)

Mommy & Daddy picked out Elizabeth's first Easter dress together. We never knew how difficult it would be to find something "Eastery" in a newborn size!

Mommy and her Sweet Pea.

Daddy and his baby daughter. Unfortunately, Ken got Elizabeth at the end of the photo shoot when she was over it all and a bit fussy!

SO HAPPY!

Happy Easter!

This was Elizabeth's First Easter - so exciting! Check out her cute Easter basket that the Easter Bunny brought her.

Apparently, the Easter Bunny thought Ken and I deserved some treats too, so we each got a basket as well.

Elizabeth was so excited to go to Grammie Buttons house for Easter Dinner!

I brought an Easter Bunny cake that I made for dessert! I was so happy with how it turned out, as I have never made anything like it before!

Then we did an Easter Egg Hunt in the yard for the kids and my mom hid all 83 eggs herself!

Jack and Haley looked all over for the eggs (while the adults pointed them out at times). But in the end Haley got the most. Jack gave her a run for the money though!

Grammie Buttons enjoyed holding Elizabeth as she napped so sweetly in her arms.

Pre-Easter Saturday

Today Ken and I took Elizabeth to the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Colee Hammock Park at the First Presbyterian Church (where I used to work). They had a bounce house, egg races, food, an Easter Bunny and crafts for the kids. Of course, with Elizabeth being so young, we just used it as a photo opportunity and family time. We had fun and it was nice to see people I have not seen in awhile! Here are some photos from the afternoon.

East Coast Swing

Elizabeth LOVES her swing. Not like. Love. Of course this thrills me because it allows me to get things done around the house most days. She loves it to swing fast, play music and have the mobile going. If it stops, she will squawk for you to get in there and turn the music back on! Then she will go back to sleep. So cute.

All snuggled up and looking so sweet.
