Today I am 28 weeks (7 months) and have officially begun my 3rd Trimester! I can't begin to tell you how excited I am. And yes, a bit relieved too. As I read books about what's going on with me and baby now, I can't help but to cry a little, knowing that soon Baby Elizabeth will be here. I can't wait to see her little face.
The nursery is almost complete. Furniture is put together and some of her clothes have been washed and put away. Yes, I have been nesting! We also just got in the valances and hung them, so it's really looking like a little girl's room now! I will post pictures next week after I finish clearing some things out. Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations being taken out has made things a bit messy at the moment.
Elizabeth says hi, I think. She's kicking as I type. :)

Black Friday
Ken and I woke up at 3:30 AM to head out for Black Friday shopping! We went to several stores and ended up getting most of our Christmas shopping done! It made waiting in the lines worth while.
I think I like Black Friday so much because it reminds me of the days we went to Live Oak, FL for Thanksgiving growing up and the day after we always drove up to the outlet malls just over the Georgia border. The entire family went and it was nice to divide and conquer, taking turns spending time with my parents, aunts and uncles and my cousins. I miss those days. So, it brings me joy of great memories and helps me to deal with all the crazies out there in the long lines.
We took a long nap after we got home, and then had Thanksgiving leftovers. In a little bit we are going to pick out a Christmas tree! Yay!
Here are a few photos from Thanksgiving Day in the Farmer Household.

Happy Thanksgiving!
So this is my first time hosting and cooking Thanksgiving dinner. I have been so excited! My parents will be here in about an hour and the festivities will begin! I have the turkey in the oven and it's looking good and almost finished cooking. I hope it tastes good too. I'm also in the process of making broccoli cheese casserole, sweet potato casserole, homemade mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, rolls and pecan pie. We also made some muddy buddies and frosted cranberries to put out. Now I must get in the shower and get cleaned up! I'll report later if the turkey and other stuff came out. ;-)
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We have so much to be thankful for.

Baby Shower in Orlando
I had a Baby Shower in Orlando on Saturday with all my Orlando friends. Special thanks to Jen for hosting it and making all the food and drinks (and adorable diaper cake!), Lourdes & Addy for letting us have it at their house, and for Karen coming up with some wonderful games and a memory board for Elizabeth's room that everyone got to sign.
I only have this one photo from the shower so far, but am hoping to get more from the friends who took photos soon! I especially loved the Tinkerbell cake with Elizabeth's name on it. Thanks Jen!
I had a great time, thank you ladies. It was SO GOOD to see everyone, especially Christine and Andrea who I had not seen in about 10 years! I so appreciate everyone being there to celebrate with me.

100 Days
There are exactly 100 days until Baby "E" will be here and I am so excited! Celebrating that, I thought I would share about one of my favorite things. Her movement. Those of you who are moms and have had a baby in your belly are sure to understand how magical it is to feel a baby move inside you. It's something I look for and love to feel every day. Each movement brings a smile to my face and fills me with such love and joy. I can't wait to feel her touch in person. Just 100 more days. I can't wait.

Sick (and Tired)
I have been sick now for about a week and hating it! There is nothing worse than a clogged up nose, head, and chest with a horrible cough to boot. It just won't go away. I have not been on the computer much this week, just tying to get a little done as I can around the house and trying to get some much needed rest. I haven't been able to sleep much either as it's kinda hard to breathe at night with all this congestion.
Anyway, I am now taking some drugs and finally feeling a bit better! If I had only known that I was allowed to take something over-the-counter! Glad I finally called my doctor. Duh! :)

A New President
Last night, Barack Obama was named the new President of the United States. How exciting! A historic night it was. Even Baby "E" started kicking in my belly as Ken and I watched the results come in on TV. I am excited to see what the next 4 years will will like. No matter who you voted for, I pray that we will begin to unite again as a country and see true progress happen with our mangled economy, the war in Iraq, and other issues such as health care.
I hope you voted! I did. And I am proud.

Doctor Switch-a-Roo
OK, so I have once again changed doctors. When I was not feeling well a couple of weeks ago, the other doctor in the office was on call and had me come in the next day so I got to meet her. She is young and a tell-it-like-it-is type, but I kinda like that. She was also very thorough and talked a lot with me and I felt comfortable with her, so I switched to her! I absolutely LOVE the office staff too, very attentive and they actually answer the phone. :)
This also means that we are switching where I will be delivering at, since she, Dr. Fahey, only delivers at Broward General. I'm perfectly fine with that, and glad we already toured the hospital. Maybe this is where we were meant to be in the first place? *sings* Isn't it ironic....

Thanksgiving is Coming!
Happy November everyone! I can't believe it's November already. Soon it will be Thanksgiving, then Christmas, then New Years, then.... ACK! Time is flying by. Speaking of Thanksgiving, I am hosting Thanksgiving this year and cooking the dinner for the first time ever! I am a little nervous, but equally excited. It'll just be Ken and I and my parents and possibly my grandmother. I am just going to make a traditional dinner with turkey, ham, Aunt Barbara's broccoli cheese casserole, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkin bread, and a couple of veggies... maybe glazed carrots and Asian green beans (a fav!). I'm glad I'm pregnant! I don't have to make excuses to eat a lot! Hahahaa! Just kidding.
Anyway, if you have a favorite sweet potato recipe, I would love to have it! Nothing too sweet, but definitely a little sweet. Thanks!
