3 Weeks Old!

Elizabeth is growing so fast! We've had a few pediatrician appointments in the last 2 weeks before she lost weight once again, going down from 7 lb. 3 oz. back to 6 lb. 15 oz. The pediatrician suggested that we supplement formula for about half of her feedings, which we did. At her next appointment, 4 days later, she was was up to 7 lb. 12 oz.! She's been a little piggy and I am so happy that she is now getting enough to eat. Oh, and she just loves to snuggle.

We also had a little scare this past week. We got a call from the hospital saying that Elizabeth's bloodwork came back (It's Florida law to test all newborns now) and that she is a carrier for Cystic Fibrosis and they wanted to do further testing on her. So, we scheduled a sweat test and doctor appointment for Wednesday, March 11. We got the call later that day that the results came back normal! What a relief. Here is a photo of her being prepped for the sweat test. She did not like it, but kept fairly happy as long as she had her favorite binky!

Yea!! New pictures and updates!! Glad everything is okay! They tested Laura for CF too!! They did all kinds of stuff to her and every time they give you news like that your heart misses a beat and you can't sleep until you have the results. Laura had chest x-rays, cat scans, put a camera down her throat, probes in her tummy and all kinds of stuff... Everything was always normal but, they sure did keep me on my toes and worried sick alot...by the time Elizabeth is 6 weeks old her eating schedule will be somewhat established and only one to two feedings at night and maybe even none so hang in there!! Your are doing great!! I can't wait to meet little Elizabeth! Give her kisses for me!

Thanks Aimee! Wow, I didn't know they would do all that stuff! We just had general exams, height, weight, lung check, plus the sweat test. Nothing too crazy, but they sure make you worry! Glad to hear that she might start sleeping more at night in a few weeks. I will be waiting anxiously for that time! :) I can't wait for you to meet her too. Her expressions are so cute and she would love to snuggle you! :)
