Hospital Visit

Today I took Elizabeth to the pediatrician because she had been vomiting quite a bit lately and several times in the last 24 hours it was projectile vomit. After being checked out, the pediatrician wanted her to go to Broward General for an ultrasound on her stomach to rule out the possibility of Pyloric Stenosis, a condition that tends to surface around this time in newborns. She did excellent though the entire ultrasound! We are waiting to hear the results, but I am confident that everything will come back fine. We mostly suspect that she has GERD, or acid reflux, which is causing her to vomit so much after she eats. Her pediatrician gave us a prescription and a few tips for when we feed her to hopefully reduce her vomiting. Hopefully we'll know the results soon and can go from there. Otherwise, she is gaining fairly well and at almost 1 month old she is now a little over 8 pounds!
